Ingredients

  • 1

    (12-ounce) package bright white candy melts

  • 1 tbsp.

    coconut or vegetable oil

  • 1 tsp.

    peppermint extract, plus additional for brushing

  • 22

    chocolate sandwich cookies (such as Oreos)

  • 1/2 tsp.

    red or pink luster dust

Directions

    1. Step 1 Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Melt candy melts according to package directions; stir in oil and peppermint extract until smooth. Working one at a time, place a cookie on a fork and dip in candy melts, tapping off excess. Place on prepared baking sheets. Let stand until set, about 20 minutes. 
    2. Step 2Stir together luster dust and a few drops of peppermint extract in a bowl to form a brushable paste. Use a small food-safe paintbrush to brush lines across the tops of the cookies. Store in an airtight container at room temperature up to 1 week.
